TMC's Abhishek Banerjee Slams BJP After ED Summons Him On Same Day As INDIA Bloc's First Panel Meeting

Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee is a member of the coordination panel of the INDIA bloc which will hold their first meeting on September 13. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate summoned Banerjee on the same day regarding a cattle smuggling case.

Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said that he has been summoned by the?Enforcement Directorate (ED) on September 13 which is also the day the first meeting of the opposition bloc INDIA's coordination meeting taking place in Delhi.?

Abhishek Banerjee is a member of the coordination panel of the opposition bloc.

Banerjee wrote a post on X, formerly known as Twitter about his situation where he slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party led government in the Centre for orchestrating this, he said, "FIRST meet of INDIA’s coordination comm is on 13th Sept in Delhi, where I'm a member. But, @dir_ed conveniently served me a notice just now to appear before thm (them) on the very same day! One can't help but marvel at the timidity & vacuousness of the 56-inch chest model."

Through his post, Banerjee made a veiled attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

How did the BJP react?

Reacting to the allegation of TMC's Diamond Harbour MP, senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said, "Abhishek, as an accused in the case, cannot expect any special treatment from the central agency."

Notably, Banerjee had earlier been summoned by the ED several times in connection with a cattle smuggling case.

The first meeting of the 14-member coordination committee of the opposition bloc INDIA will be held in the national capital on September 13, leaders said on Sunday. As per reports, the meeting will be held at?the residence of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar. The panel would be discussing the coalition's strategies and future programmes.?
