One Jaspreet Singh (29), who allegedly climbed one of the tombs located in Red Fort during the farmers’ tractor rally on Republic Day has been arrested, officials said.

Officials further claimed that Singh is an associate of?Maninder Singh, the man who allegedly swung swords?at protesters at Red Fort during the tractor rally. Maninder Singh was arrested on Tuesday.

Jaspreet Singh, a resident of Swaroop Nagar in northwest Delhi, was arrested by a Crime Branch team on Saturday.

Violence erupted in Delhi on January 26 when clashes broke out between protesting farmers and police personnel during the farmers’ tractor rally. The farmers were protesting the Centre’s recent agriculture legislations.

“Jaspreet Singh was standing behind Maninder Singh and he also climbed one of the tombs located at Red Fort," a police officer said. "In one of the pictures, he is also seen making an offensive gesture while holding the steel tensile installed at Red Fort,” the officer added.

Maninder Singh, who works as a car AC mechanic, was arrested in Pitampura in northwest Delhi last week, police said.

According to the police, Maninder Singh was seen in a video swinging two swords at Red Fort "with the intent of motivating or radicalising and energising violent anti-national elements indulging in the brutal assault and attacking police persons on duty".

Maninder Singh was "radicalised" by watching "provoking" Facebook posts of various groups, police had said, adding he would frequently visit the Singhu border and was "highly motivated" by speeches made by leaders there.
