Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address a public rally at Mangarh, Banswara on World Adivasi Day- August 9. Govind Singh Dotsara, Pradesh Congress Committee’s president, confirmed Gandhi’s participation in the rally. The Tribal Vote Bank in south Rajasthan has been a point of contention between the BJP and Congress since the BJP? and Bharatiya Tribal Party made a notable dent in their vote bank.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were those among invited, however, only Gandhi’s participation has been confirmed yet. The meeting is intended to be a display of? the Congresses’ political grasp among the tribal community. ?

The gathering at Mangarh is being viewed as a beginning of Congresses’ election campaign. The? venue chosen for the meeting- Dham, a holy place for the tribals spread across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan seems to be a deliberate move on their end. Moreover, by mobilising a large number of tribals on World Tribals Day ( August 9), Congress is preparing an ostentatious exhibition of power.?

“PM Modi has held six meeting in Rajasthan so far.We will mobilise more people than the six public meetings put together of Modi’s rallies at Mangarh” asserted Dotasra. Keeping in view the tribals’ unacknowledged plea to declare Mangarh Dham a national monument, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot may make use of this opportunity to strike while the iron is hot, and make certain announcements to win over the tribal vote bank.?

“PM Modi did not say a word about that. We would like our govt. to give such a gift in the presence of Rahul Gandhi so that our excitement remains intact. We cannot declare it as a national monument officially but we can elevate its grandeur to the level of a national monument’ added Dotasra. They also said that a project had already been announced for development of Mangarh Dham by the state government. “Not a political but a social message of solidarity” Dotasara concluded.
