Vikas Shukla, who best known for his roles in ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Bard of Blood’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Omerta’, ‘Les Cowboys’ among others, is currently garnering accolades for playing writer-director Asghar Ali in recently released show ‘Jubilee’ on Amazon Prime, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.?

Talking about the kind of responses he is getting, he told us, "It's overwhelming and feels so good to be a part of this masterpiece. People who know me personally are amazed seeing my work. Everyone is pouring lots of love and warmth. It's a career oriented work that I feel. Definitely it would place me somewhere for sure."

Spilling beans about his character, he said, "I'm playing a writer director whose name is Asghar Ali, who wants to make his first film and how he sees ups and downs during the making of his film. In order to get into the character, I used to read the script 100 or 200 times. Also, the dialect and the language used in the series is not something, usually it has more of urdu style and tonality. Since I belong from town near Lucknow, so it was quite easier for me to pick up the dialect. That's how I prepped for Asghar Ali."

Describing his working experience with Vikramaditya Motwane and the briefings he received from him for his role, Vikas mentioned, "Vikram sir is calm and composed, he's an actor's director. He is very clear with his vision and knows what he wants, so as an actor, it becomes easier for you because you know what to deliver. His filmmaking craft is unmatchable. The amazing part is every part we shot was there in the series, this shows such a brilliant filmmaker he is! No more no less. He knows how to represent their actors on the screen. He works with each and every actor with same amount of focus."

Sharing his working experience with his co actors, Vikas informed, "All are extremely professionals and very humble! Prosenjit da, Aparshakti, Wamiqa, Ram Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari and Shweta Basu Prasad, all were fantastic co actors on the set. I feel very lucky that I shared a screen with all of them. Aparshakti and I had great chemistry on screen, which we thoroughly enjoyed while filming.”
