Actress Saiyami Kher who made her Hindi film debut in 2016 with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Mirzya' is currently basking in the success of 'Ghoomer'. She has played a cricketer Anina who loses her right arm and how under the mentorship of coach Padam Singh Sodhi aka Paddy (Abhishek Bachchan) she bounces back. Anina was not an easy character?to play but the way Saiyami pulled it off is commendable. The young actress has been getting immense praise from her colleagues, sportspersons and her fans for her stellar act.?

On the response Saiyami has been getting for her performance in R Balki's directorial, she told Outlook India that she feels overwhelmed and grateful. She added, ''One is the audience's reaction and the family and friends saw it first. So, they loved it and after that on August 18, when the film released, Gulzar sahab saw it who I am a big fan of?and he loved it, and of course, senior Bachchan (Amitabh Bachchan) sent me that letter and I was crying and weeping and then my other hero, Sachin Tendulkar saw it and he loved it. It has been really overwhelming and I am really grateful''.?

Being an ardent fan of sports, playing a sportsperson has always been Saiyami's dream role. She said with 'Ghoomer', finally her dream has come true. ''I was dreaming of it ever since I started acting. It was something that I really wanted to do. So, it was literally has been the dream and I am happier that I could live this dream because I love the sport and wanted to play a sportsperson on screen. I wrote an?Instagram post on what this film means to me. It was always my dream that I wanted to wear the Indian jersey but I couldn't but I managed to do it in the film. And also besides cricket, I feel it's a very emotional and difficult part for an actor to play. Even getting to play that in itself was special,'' said the actress.?

She further shared, ''When people used to ask me during my debut what kind of dream role I liked to do. Then I used to say I wanted to play a sportsman.''

Kher is someone who doesn't think of the result. She believes in working hard and she knew?that 'Ghoomer' was going to be?liked as it was really a heartfelt story. ''But the response that has come is way more overwhelming than?I thought?it would be. But I am really grateful and happy that people have liked it,'' she?said.?

The 'Choked' actress also shared that 'Ghoomer' was a 'very difficult' and?emotionally draining film'. She added, "It took a lot out of me. The climax shot of the film where I break down. For me, that was a very difficult scene to that. My scene with Abhishek Bachchan, when he comes and says, 'How do you want to kill yourself?' That whole scene was very difficult to do. There were many tough scenes to do but I feel as an actor, it's my way of kind of letting out what I usually bottle up inside. It's a nice and therapeutic way that you can put out?all your emotions on the camera".

'Ghoomer' also stars Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles.?
