New K-Pop Band TWS Makes Impressive Debut With Mini-Album, Secure A Spot On Various Charts

PLEDIS Entertainment's new band TWS has made their much-awaited debut with a chart-topping mini-album.

Well-known agencies in South Korea, HYBE Labels and PLEDIS Entertainment, teamed up to announce their newest boy band TWS. The group's name stands for 'TWENTY FOUR SEVEN WITH US,' which highlights their dedication and commitment to relate to and be there for their fans all the time. 

After dropping a single on January 2, the boys (Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon and Kyungmin), went viral all across the world. Just one song was enough to garner a huge fan base, and the wait for more songs began. Luckily, the waiting period wasn't long because the band released their debut mini-album ‘Sparkling Blue’ on January 22. The album comprises of five tracks that are all associated with 'Boyhood Pop.' The 15 minutes long album reflects the daily emotions and experiences of a person in an honest way, uplifted with fun beats. 

According to Hanteo Chart, their mini-album has sold a whopping 206,240 copies on the first day alone. The album marked its name on the spot of the 'daily best-selling physical album' as of January 22.

Beyond numbers, with this explosive debut, they have secured a spot on various charts. Within the first hour of release, 'Sparkling Blue' saw all its songs enter Melon's 'Hot 100' chart. Additionally, the album's title track, 'plot twist' also made its way on iTunes' 'Top Song' chart in six countries and regions, along with another song 'unplugged boy' securing top spot in three countries and regions.

The album has also successfully secured a spot on iTunes' 'Top Album' chart in 11 different countries and regions. It reached the top spot in Thailand and India while also reaching Japan, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Turkey. 

With this, TWS is living up to its title of the 'rookie of 2024’ in the K-Pop scene.
